Chelsea proved a tough opponent for the FVCS Middle School boys as they suffered their first defeat of the season, 4-3.  Despite falling behind 3-0 in the first half, the team responded with a nice goal from Will Lunsford assisted by Ian Sumrall.  After conceding the 4th goal the Chelsea, the boys did not stop playing hard and created numerous chances before Ben Worsham drew a foul in the penalty area for a spot kick which Ben Sexton converted with ease.  Just a minute later Ben Sexton scored again to cut the lead to one with two minutes left in the game.  FVCS forced a corner kick on the final play of the game, but the ball was cleared and the whistle blew.

"I thought we played better in the second half tonight.  We were a little apathetic in the first half and that is what contributed to the deficit.  Give Chelsea credit.  They hustled for every 50/50 ball and kept us on our heals for much of the first half. I am proud of how the team responded in the second half.  They never quit." Coach Sumrall remarked after the game.
