RIVERFRONT CHRISTIAN SCHOOL, VA: 28
The captains on the middle school team displayed their leadership greatly, as they traveled to Riverfront Christian School Tuesday evening. Captains and 8th graders: Ezra Lash, Ty Shollenberger, and Ben Worsham led the team with a combined, 34 points. 7th grade starters: Dylan Huggins and Will Lunsford did a solid job on offense moving the ball around and getting into the paint. The Pioneers controlled the entire game and that was due to the energetic play of their bench. With only three subs: 6th grader, Brent Worsham added a a couple of points; while 5th grader, Josiah Murphy was tasked in guarding Riverfront's top scorer, David Foeckler, and held him to only 11 points. Another 5th grader, Isaac Shollenberger, made his debut and held his own against the larger opponent. The final score of the game was 40-28, Fresta Valley. The only time the Pioneers trailed in the game was at the 3:30 mark in the first quarter with a score of 8-7.
The team will travel to Rappahannock County HS to play their middle school boys, who are the defending VMSC Champions. Game time is 5:45 pm.
