The Pioneers capped off the SVCA Invitational Tournament this Saturday with a victory over Southwest Virginia Homeschool to win the 'USA Cup'. Entering the season opening tournament, the FVC defense held their own, posting shutouts in the final two games. It was a long day for the team, battling injuries, the Pioneers only had eleven players for the five games they played. Fatigue was a major opponent, but with the help of 9 goals from Tournament MVP, Jen Knoebel, Fresta Valley pushed through. Fresta Valley Christian filled the podium post-game with four other players joining the All-Tournament Team: Rose Wilkers, Macy Houston, Bethany Worsham, and Jessie Fortunato. The women's team will host the Front Royal Flames this Thursday to open regular season play at 5:00 pm.
